The formation of the network evolved after the fair trade colloquium in September 26th, 2005 in Cebu City. It was initiated by SPFTC and the Advocates for Philippine Fair Trade attended by 36 organizations coming from small producers, academics, government and entrepreneurs. The Network was established in order to actualize Fair Trade in Cebu/Central Visayas by:
The Network aims to pursue the Consumers Awareness Campaign, specifically raising awareness of consumers on fair trade and promoting patronage for fair trade products. Activities in this campaign include advocacy on fair trade, media projection, trade fair participation and other market access related activities.
